As Development Officer for the MaineGeneral Health Office of Philanthropy, Anna develops and facilitates strategies for donor-relationship cultivation, community engagement, planned giving and other initiatives in support of MaineGeneral’s mission to enhance the health of our patients, families and communities. Anna believes a culture of philanthropy includes fostering community partnerships and support “beyond the check” to create and sustain opportunities for long-lasting positive impact.

Anna joined the MaineGeneral team in January 2022, coming from a regional private foundation whose mission advances educational, economic and social, racial and ethnic equity in Arkansas. Before that, Anna was the associate director of development for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO), where she managed annual fundraising and grant cycles to support music education and outreach for thousands of children and to make live, professional symphonic music accessible to all Arkansans. Her career journey also includes experience in digital information accessibility and office administration.

Anna and her husband, Nathaniel, live in Hallowell and enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors together. Her hobbies include browsing bookstores, libraries and antique stores; hosting dinner gatherings; amateur bird-watching; attempting to keep her plants and flowers alive; and visiting far-flung family and friends. She spent two decades freelancing as a professional classical musician and private music instructor in Texas, Virginia and Arkansas before relocating to Maine during the spring of 2021. You may not hear a strong southern accent when talking with Anna, but “y’all” is happily ensconced in her vocabulary. She looks forward to becoming more connected and involved in the life of her new home community.

Anna earned her Master of Music in Harp Performance from Shenandoah University and her Bachelor of Arts in Music from The College at Southwestern, now Texas Baptist College.
