Chelsea Moeller

Director of Philanthropy

CHELSEA MOELLER rejoined the Office of Philanthropy as Director this May 2014 after serving in a major gifts capacity since 2011. Beginning with events and progressively working her way through various roles in the department, this newest endeavor seems a fitting next step! Having seen the construction of and campaign for the Alfond Center medical campus culminate with the grand opening in November, and having witnessed the generosity of so many to make it happen, Chelsea feels a strong tie to the Greater Augusta community, her home-away-from-midwestern-home.

Born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri, she graduated with honors from Truman State University with a dual degree in English and Sociology/Anthropology. While working in the public relations/marketing office of an Illinois hospital, she found an intriguing Americorp*VISTA position – in Bangor, Maine. Chelsea had fond memories of Maine from vacationing there as a child, so she loaded a U-Haul, relocated, rediscovered all the things she loved about Maine, and spent two-and-a-half years with Americorps. Her one-year Maine adventure had already turned into two and when MaineGeneral’s Philanthropy Office embraced her as a new employee, two quickly turned into 8! Maine's doors have been opening ever since, the most recent one allowing her and her fiancé to pack up yet again, to head eastward to make Maine home and to continue giving back to a community that's given them so much.

GEORGIA KOSCIUSKO joined the Philanthropy Team in 2007. Georgia’s grant experience started with one of her first jobs—reviewing grant budgets—while attending the University of California, Irvine. She graduated in 1974 “magna cum laude” from California State University at Long Beach with a BA in Sociology and soon moved to Maine. She and her husband Dennis raised their blended family on beautiful farmland in Stetson, where today they have a family compound and Gathering Center. Always active in grassroots organizing, Georgia was a founding member of PICA in Bangor and made three trips to El Salvador during and after the war there including one with her husband driving a truck filled with donated items needed by Bangor’s Sister City, Carasque.  She also was a founding board member of “Posibilidad”, an organization which educates people about the reality of life in Central and South America and builds bridges between people here and there. She worked for seven years at Eastern Maine Development Corporation at jobs including Deputy Director, Director of Marketing and Director of Finance. While her children were young she worked at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor as Youth Minister and went from there in 1993 to take a position as Controller at Hope House in Bangor, a shelter and treatment center especially for people struggling with addictions. When the organization merged with Acadia Hospital in 1998, she worked as project manager to oversee the integration.  In 2001, she moved to Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems to work as a grant specialist, for all of its health care organizations.  In coming to MaineGeneral Health she has sought to facilitate the use of grants to foster the strategic plans of the organization.
